Behind Foldwise is Jakubek Bis, a sole proprietorship trading as Jakubek Studio, registered at John Risøensgate 156, 5527 Haugesund, Norway, with Michal Rogut answering for it. Norway applies the GDPR through personopplysningsloven, and under it that business is the controller for anything personal on this page. Write to brett@jakubek.store.

• which models you have starred and which you have ticked off as learned;
• the counts your progress page shows, worked out from those ticks;
• settings: paper colour, animation speed, language.

That is the entire list, and it lives in the app's own private storage. There is no account to attach it to and no server of ours that could take delivery, so none of it is uploaded. Should Android's backup be switched on, that small file may ride into the backup Google keeps under your account, on Google's terms rather than ours.

Every diagram is generated by the app from its own geometry at the moment you look at it. Nothing is downloaded, there is no library to sync and no update of content arrives over the air, which is exactly why the whole book works on a train, on a plane or in a room with no signal at all.

Nothing at all. No camera — the app draws its diagrams rather than photographing paper. No microphone, no location, no contacts, no file access, and no notifications. There is no permission prompt anywhere in Foldwise, because there is nothing it needs to ask for.

There is no sign-in to make, no advertising identifier read, no analytics library compiled in, no crash reporter of ours and no profiling of any kind. Which models defeat people, how far a reader has got, whether the app has been opened once since install: all of it is invisible to us, by construction rather than by policy.

Distribution is Google Play's job, governed by Google's terms and not ours. A handset that shares usage and diagnostics with Google contributes to a pooled fault tally we can see in the Play Console — counts of installs affected, and roughly which hardware. No reader, phone or starred model appears in it; we open it to work out what broke.

Paper folding is a classic thing to do with a child, and the app suits it: nothing is collected from users of any age, there is no chat, no link out and nothing to buy. The one caution is physical rather than digital — see the next step.

Everything personal that ever arrives here arrives in an email: your address, plus whatever you decided to write. Two uses only — replying, and putting a diagram right — under the legitimate-interest ground of Article 6(1)(f). Twelve months after the last message the thread goes, unless a law says to hold it.

Access it, correct it, erase it, restrict it, object to it, take it elsewhere: all six apply, though a message you sent us is realistically the only file that could exist. Requests are answered within a month. If the answer falls short, Norway's supervisory authority is Datatilsynet at datatilsynet.no, and anyone living elsewhere in the EEA may raise it with their own national authority instead.

One action returns the app to the state it shipped in: Android settings, the Foldwise entry, storage, clear data. Stars, ticks and preferences leave in the same movement, as they do if the app is uninstalled, and because nothing was ever copied elsewhere there is no restoring it.
